Summary of The First Tuesday
Albom is visiting Morrie on a Tuesday, their first Tuesday. This is their second meeting and they talk freely like they did back when the author was in college. The author notices the pile of newspapers that Morrie has recently read. The author asks him why he reads them all. Morrie replies “[d]o you think because I’m dying, I shouldn’t care what happens in this world.” After some thought, the author realizes that they had always visited on Tuesdays and Morrie says “[w]e’re Tuesday people.” The author agrees and as he goes to leave Morrie asks “[s]o you’ll come back next Tuesday.”
